- Senior Pastor: Ron Ballew

Prior to his arrival in Oregon, Ron served on the pastoral staff at Atlantic Christian Assembly in Cape Town, South Africa, as well as Academic Site Director at Cornerstone Christian College in the same city. He was raised in California.

He has been senior pastor of SVCC since August 2004. He particularly enjoys fellowship activities and question and answer times with the congregation.

Ron has a B.A. in Ministerial Studies from Bethany College; an M.A. in Cross-Cultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Master of Divinity from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

Ron is married to Karol, his wife of 18 years. They have a 7 year old daughter, Katie. In his spare time Ron enjoys computers, old cars, shooting, fishing and reading.

- Ministries Coordinator: Sherree Rodriguez

Sherree began working as office manager for SVCC in February 2004. In November 2004, her job transitioned to that of Ministries Coordinator. She oversees all adult ministries at SVCC and coordinates many administrative tasks including the church newsletter and book-keeping. In addition to this, Sherree also teaches in various capacities and does occasional preaching.

Sherree is a certified Assemblies of God minister through the Oregon Ministry Network. She is currently working to acquire her minister's license, also with Assemblies of God. Sherree has lived in Florence most of her life and has a heart to see hope restored into the lives of people in our community, through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Sherree has been married for 26 years to her husband, Mark. Together they have two adult children, Megan & Gabriel. In her spare time she enjoys reading, art work, gardening, home improvements and fitness activities.

- Worship Leader: Cheri Laxague

Cheri has led worship at SVCC for 5 years. She oversees all musical activities and creative ministries. She has been involved in all aspects of church leadership but finds her true love in music. She has served in church leadership for over 16 years.

Cheri and her husband Rick have been married and living in Florence for 18 years. They have two beautiful children, Zach, age 14 and Alisabeth, age 12.

Cheri is employed full-time as an Educational Assistant at Siuslaw Middle School and part-time at the church. She is passionate about attending her kid's sporting events, baking cookies, scrapbooking & photography, and whenever possible...sleeping! :)

- Children's Ministry Director: Paula Williams

Paula has been on board since July 2005 taking responsibility for The Cove children's ministry which includes ages birth to 5Th grade. As director Paula oversees all aspects of our children's ministry program as well as teaching our elementary children. Paula comes to us with a total of 5 years children's ministry experience.

Paula is married to Mark, her husband of 10 years. They have a seven year old son named Tyler along with two dachshunds named Lindsey and Gretchen. Paula and her family enjoy the Florence area and are having fun exploring and learning all there is to do. When Paula gets a chance to rest she enjoys taking long walks, reading, scrapbooking and other fun art and craft projects.

- Youth Pastors: Tyron & Lisa Georgiades

Tyron & Lisa Georgiades came to Florence in June of 2006 to work with the youth & young adults of our church. They were both born and raised in South Africa, and most recently lived in Cape Town. They worked there at Atlantic Christian Assembly as young adult ministers and as leaders of the youth band. They also worked with an organization called the Drug Education Agency, which taught high school students to avoid substance abuse. They have a passion for Jesus and want to see our young people raised up to serve Him whole-heartedly. Tyron and Lisa are both musically inclined; both sing and play multiple instruments. They are looking forward to the addition of their first child to their household in early February. We hope to have Tyron and Lisa with us at SVCC for at least 3 years.

- Secretary: Cathy Drozdenko

Cathy Drozdenko has had the privilege of living in Florence since May 2005. A few months after settling in Florence, she took the position of Administrative Assistant here at Siuslaw Valley Christian Center. After working for years in county government and living in an area of heavy traffic, the ministry at SVCC has been a true blessing to her! Cathy enjoys interacting with people and helping with various ministries. Her husband, Don, joins her in sharing in the work of the local church. One thing Cathy treasures is to see God move in answer to prayer. She also takes delight in sharing the love of God through the oral tradition of storytelling. Cathy and Don have found the people of Florence to be very warm and accepting. Stop by the office and say "Hi" any time. Cathy will be glad to chat with you, join you in prayer and if you are not careful... show you pictures of her first and only grandson, Joshua, as well as her kitty that both she and Don say "adopted them"!
